Supplier Price Increases
Why are single ply roof prices rising?
Due to the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the national lockdown, and Brexit, the construction industry is seeing a considerable rise in the cost of raw materials. This is an issue that is globally significant, with industries like ours experiencing a sizable lack of raw material availability.
The lockdown restrictions have consistently reduced consumer demand for a range of products, and because of this lack of demand, raw material manufacturers have dramatically reduced the output. This has prompted significant rises for the cost of manufacturing, as well as raw materials.
How are our supplier’s prices changing?
Because of the ongoing issues with raw materials, our suppliers have had to make the tough decision to increase pricing, until these can be stabilised when the availability of raw materials increases.
The changes are relevant to our suppliers’ full range of products which include:
⦁ Increase on all single ply membranes
⦁ Increase on membrane accessories, which include:
⦁ Protection and detailing membranes
⦁ Corners
⦁ Décor and batten profiles
⦁ Lightning conductor clips
⦁ Increase on metals
⦁ Increase on insulation including PIR and MW
⦁ Increase on adhesive and primer
The impact of these price increases has already been limited by global procurement capabilities.
Are there any other impacts?
As well as the increases in price, the lack of raw material available globally means that production times can be slower, and lead times from suppliers are longer than usual.
