Our role in the project at ABInBev UK:

Here at Enviroply Roofing we are the number one choice for roofing across the North West, and we were delighted to work with Morris & Spottiswood on the ABInBev development in Samlesbury, Preston. This development consisted of a number of different roofings systems for different buildings and areas, each using a Sikaplan system. We began the installation on 04/06/2024.

For roofing systems A-C, we began by installing the S-Vap 500 E Air and Vapour Control Layer (AVCL). As one of the most well renowned AVCL’s on the market, this is a product that can be trusted to prevent damage caused by the build up of moisture vapour and condensation. With a thick polyethylene base, the S-Vap 500 E provides a high level of moisture vapour resistance, for a high quality roofing system with longevity.

Following the AVCL, we then moved onto the insulation layer. For roofs A-C we installed Sikatherm® PIR AL insulation boards. These are faced on both sides with an aluminium composite foil, which is bonded to the insulation core, creating a high level of thermal resistance. This tapered insulation is thicker on one side, designed to provide a practical gradient, allowing rainwater to drain from the roof effectively, and avoiding ponding problems and issues.

Roofing systems A-C were completed with the installation of the Sikaplan® G-15 single ply membrane. Renowned for its durability, strength, outstanding weather and UV resistance, and its longevity, this was the perfect option for the ABinBev development. This was installed in line with manufacturers recommendations, and the roofing system was mechanically fixed into position.

For roofing systems D and E, the process was similar, with only slight changes due to the requirements of the roof. For both roof D and E, we installed a Felt VCL instead of the S-Vap 500 E, and for roof E, we also used flat insulation boards instead of tapered insulation boards.

We also installed the Sikaplan single ply roofing system for the canopy roof.

The result at the ABInBev development
